Water Safety

With warmer weather approaching, water safety has once again been highlighted in the national press following a number of tragic incidents involving children and young people around open water. While water can be great fun, it is important that children understand the risks and know how to stay safe.

To help support this important message, we are sharing a new water safety flyer. We encourage all families to take a few minutes to read the information together and discuss how to enjoy water safely at home and when out and about. Recent campaigns continue to stress the importance of respecting water, understanding the dangers of cold water shock, and knowing what to do in an emergency.

Remember the Water Safety Code: Stop, Stay Together, and Float in an emergency.
